You don’t need to wait to see a Doctor!
Our prescribing Nurse Practitioners are highly trained and are able to deal with the vast majority of medical issues that you present us with. They are able to diagnose and prescribe medication and work closely with our GPs on any cases about which they want a second opinion. As we have a growing team of nurse practitioners, you could save you time if you want to get in and see us as quickly as possible. You don’t need to wait to see a doctor!

Who should you see?
Nurse Practitioners see adults and children with acute illnesses and undiagnosed illnesses and any medical condition which requires physical examination and assessment and provide health care management advice.

Doctors see patients with complex illnesses, those needing medical certificates and those with ongoing conditions who have been invited to return for follow-up appointments.

Practice Nurses see patients for travel vaccinations, routine immunisations, new patient registration health checks, over-75 health checks, cervical screening, routine blood pressure checks and ongoing long-term conditions management. Long-term conditions management includes illnesses such as diabetes, coronary heart disease and asthma. The practice nurses also provide contraception advice, reviews and treatment.

Follow-up appointments
After your appointment with your nurse or doctor, listen carefully to who they want you to have a follow-up appointment with. The clinician will give you a form which you must pass to reception to book the follow-up appointment.

Making an appointment
Please call the surgery to book an appointment. You can book a routine appointment with a GP or Nurse Practitioner up to two weeks in advance.

There are also a limited number of same day appointments for urgent problems. If you consider your condition to be urgent, please make this clear to the receptionist. Please remember your urgent appointment is for one issue for one person only.

If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse for advice or about test results you have been given, please call after 11.00am.

The surgery is accessible to wheelchairs.

Cancelling appointments
If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that it can be used for another patient.

We now have a new 24hr telephone line for you to call if you wish to cancel your appointment. You can leave us a message at any time of the day or night by calling 020 8299 9102. When you call please leave the following information:

  • your full name
  • your date of birth
  • a contact telephone number
  • the date and time of the appointment you want to cancel

Home visits
If a home visit is required, please telephone 020 8299 0499 before 10.30am for non-urgent appointments. If you require an out-of-hours home visit, please contact SELDOC on 020 8693 9066.

We would respectfully remind patients that they should make every effort to attend the practice. A doctor will only visit you at home if you are too ill to come to the practice, or are housebound by chronic disease. Visits are normally made in the afternoon. When requesting a home visit please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.

Please remember several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to make a home visit, so if you can, please come into the surgery to be seen.
